We love what we do.

And we love to share it with you.

Family-Run.

Crowed-Fed.

Full of Heart.

We opened Gordo’s back in early 2010 with one goal: feed the Duluth community the way we feed our own family—generously, joyfully, and always with love.

It all started with beloved Antonio “Gordo” (yep, that Gordo), second of the three boys in the family, along with younger brother Carlos, his wife Claudia, older brother JC, sisters Maily and last but not least (famous pastry baker) Yaye, and their amazing parents, Mr. & Mrs. Villalobos, Gordo’s quickly became more that a restaurant. It became one big home.

Basically, the whole crew jumped in. These days, even the next generation is part of it: all the kids have worked, are working, or will eventually work at Gordo’s. See a young one wiping tables, serving or boxing up a pie? Ask them–they’re most likely related to the original crew.

We make everything from scratch. Our recipes are taste-tested, “argued” over, and perfected over the years. People say the food at Gordo’s hits different. Maybe it’s the crust. Maybe it’s the sauce. Or maybe it’s the secret ingredient we put in everything: LOVE.

(Yeah, we know, it sounds cheesy… which is exactly how we like it ;)
